The Best Huggies Diapers of 2022

B08XT55X2XThe best Huggies diapers keep your baby’s bodily functions locked in tight. But with several options, you may not know which diapers will lock in messes best. Our absolute favorite diapers by Huggies are the Special Delivery Hypoallergenic diapers as they have the best ingredients for the most sensitive people – babies. Let’s look at all of the best Huggies diapers with a focus on our four favorites.

Best Huggies Diapers

Huggies Little Snugglers Diapers work best for newborn and young infants, even including a cutout for umbilical cords in the smallest size; whereas Huggies Little Movers Diapers are geared more towards babies on the move and are unavailable in size newborn, 1, or 2.

Huggies Special Delivery Hypoallergenic Baby Diapers

The Huggies Special Delivery Diapers are by far the best option available and not as expensive as you would think (especially if you find coupons or shop sales). However, what is truly special about these diapers is they are made with plant-based materials. You can’t tell these are on the natural side by looking at the black box with red and white lettering!

While Huggies hasn’t gotten gimmicky with their box, the product is what parents have been asking for since they got rid of their Pure and Natural diapers back in 2015. Who cares what the box looks like, though, so long as the diapers don’t irritate your baby’s skin and keep them dry with the best ingredients possible! These are the best option for babies with sensitive skin thanks to the quality ingredients.

What We Love

With the Special Delivery diapers, your baby gets the softest plant-based diapers from a brand you know. It’s the best of both worlds with a high-quality brand and better for skin ingredients! Moreover, the diapers are dermatologically tested to be free of fragrance and elemental chlorine.

Furthermore, the diapers are free of parabens that can disrupt hormone systems. With about 23 percent plant-based materials, you know the parts of the diaper directly touching your baby’s skin are a safer option, less likely to cause skin irritation. Also, the other materials they use come from better sources instead of all synthetic materials like their other diapers.

The materials used include polyethylene from sugarcane, sodium polyacrylate, wood fluff pulp, polypropylene, polyethylene, polyurethane, polyolefin, polyester, adhesives, and color-changing dye. All of these meet EWG low issue criteria. Moreover, they don’t bleach the wood fluff pulp (the part that soaks up liquid) to avoid creating dioxin, which is a known hormone disrupter found in most other diapers, including Huggies options.

A fun feature is each diaper comes in a different pattern. Find a cute and modern pattern ready to make taking care of stinky situations a little more enjoyable.

Keep your baby safe from moisture with these diapers for up to 12 hours with breathable layers of softness. Babies get plenty of airflow from the diapers too. Parents will really love the wetness indicator to know when it’s time for a diaper change.

Another nice feature of the Huggies Special Delivery diapers is they come in sizes 1 to 6. Use these diapers for your baby’s entire life. However, they do not currently come in preemie sizes. Otherwise, you can use them until your baby is 35 pounds and ready to switch to pull on diapers or underwear.

What We Dislike

Despite the natural materials, the diaper can still give a rash to very sensitive babies. Even natural items are irritants depending on the person, the same as with foods.

Next, some people found the diapers leak and sag very quickly. Honestly, babies should not be left in diapers when they are wet, as even their own urine and bowel movements can be caustic to their skin.

Huggies Little Movers Baby Diapers

Huggies Overnites Nighttime Diapers, Size 3, 80 Ct

The Huggies Little Movers Baby Diapers is for babies on the go. When babies start moving, diapers start shifting, which can leave a very messy situation indeed! With double grip straps, your baby will enjoy comfort without wiggling out of their nappy.

Little Movers need diapers that move but stay in place, and that’s exactly what this diaper does. It’s perfect for babies ages three months and up who are starting to move. No worries about leaking even when babies do what they do best; live without constraint.

What We Love

The contoured shape leads to the best-fitting diaper on the market. As it’s meant for babies on the go, it does not come in size newborn, size one, or size two. However, you can get the diaper in size three up to six or from 16 pounds up to 35 pounds making them the best diaper option for toddlers.

Moving forward, the diaper offers a DryTouch liner to keep baby dry by absorbing moisture on contact. Keep your baby drier with the SizeUp indicator that lets you know when it’s time to switch sizes.

Like with most Huggies diapers, this one offers leakproof protection for up to 12 hours with a Leak Lock system. Also, it has a SnugFit waistband that allows babies to move comfortably. The diaper even includes a wet indicator strip to let you know if it’s time for a change.

Finally, we love that Huggies does not use chlorine bleaching for the pulps in any of their products. Instead, they use elemental chlorine-free bleaching to avoid creating dioxins.

What We Dislike

Honestly, the only thing not to like about these diapers is the materials used to create them. Yes, they are absorbent, but the ingredients can be harsh to gentle skin especially if you leave a diaper on for the full 12 hours it can last. Please remember, the 12 hours is just extra protection, not how long the diaper should last.

The only time a baby should have a diaper on for an extended period is if they are sleeping. Keep in mind, the vast majority of babies do just fine with traditional diapers, and you only need to worry about the materials if you have a personal preference (many prefer all-cotton cloth diapers or organic diapers) or if your baby has an allergy.

Huggies Overnites Nighttime Diapers

Customers love Huggies Overnites Nighttime Diapers to help train babies to sleep through the night and stay dry. These are the most absorbent diapers on the market, with double leak guards ready to offer extra protection. However, they are only guaranteed 12 hours of protection.

Moreover, these diapers are designed to act as nightclothes with pajama-like softness and comfort. Sleep can be so difficult for babies. Make it easier with the right diaper ready to ensure complete comfort.

What We Love

We love that these diapers are hypoallergenic and free of fragrance, lotion, parabens, and elemental chlorine. Babies can sleep soundly, and parents can too, with the right diaper better for their health. A DryTouch Liner keeps skin dry overnight by absorbing wetness with contact.

Next, the diapers include a wetness indicator, so you know if your baby needs a change. Babies in size three diapers up to size six can enjoy these diapers. As they are only meant to be for bedtime, a package will last you quite a while too.

What We Dislike

The only thing not to love about the Huggies Overnites is the price. For the added comfort, you will spend money, and it’s not really a necessity as they offer the same wetness protection as other pajamas. Also, babies who move often in the night might do better with the Huggies Little Movers even at night.

Huggies Little Snugglers Baby Diapers

Baby Diapers Size 1, 198 Ct, Huggies Little Snugglers

The Huggies Little Snugglers Baby Diapers work best for younger babies or those who tend to have blowouts. These diapers are meant to offer the best skin protection. They even include a cutout for umbilical cord stumps for newborns.

Also, the young babies in sizes newborn, one, and two will enjoy a softer diaper with polyester. Babies who love to snuggle and watch the world will love these diapers that feel like a hug. Babies who are massive movers may not do as well with this option.

What We Love

Our favorite feature of the Little Snugglers diaper is the pocketed back waistband. It keeps messes inside the diaper instead of creeping up your baby’s backside! Babies are very skillful at pooping up their back, and finally, a diaper exists ready to combat this common problem.

We also love the GentleAbsorb liner that catches wetness on contact for clean, healthy, and soft skin. Use these diapers for your baby’s entire diapering life until they need Pullups, as they come in size preemies all the way up to size six. That’s the same reliably soft diaper from 1 pound up to 35 pounds.

Lastly, the diaper includes reliable tabs on the side for a snug fit and comfort. Get the infamous wetness indicator so you know when it’s time to change your infant’s diaper. Don’t forget the umbilical cord cutout, too, to prevent irritating your infant.

What We Dislike

The Huggies Little Snugglers are one of the most affordable diapers by this brand, making these very likable diapers. The materials aren’t organic or natural but work for most babies except maybe those who need hypoallergenic or who are allergic to polyester.

Other Huggies Diapers

The Huggies Snug & Dry Baby Diapers are the most economical diaper option but do not provide as much comfort or contouring to keep them on babies on the go. Some of these diapers have hards spots, too, which further reduces the comfort, as can the added fragrance.

Why are Huggies Little Movers Slip-On Diaper Pants sold for a higher price than Pullups or other diapers for toddlers? Maybe if your baby is very tiny around the waist, this product would make sense, otherwise, it’s a marketing gimmick not worth the price.

The Best Huggies Diapers Compared

How We Selected Huggies Diapers

Huggies goes out of their way to make sure their products are soft and safe. They do not use products that can cause dioxins and act as hormone disrupters.

You can be sure your baby’s skin is safe with Huggies, although you can choose the Special Delivery diapers if you want to be extra cautious.

However, this does not mean the diapers are good for the environment as they will take a long time to decompose

All of Huggies diapers are absorbent and can protect your baby for up to 12 hours. Mind you, the 12 hours is only so babies can sleep overnight and so the diapers do not fall apart. You should change the baby’s diaper far more often.

Huggies diapers come in size preemie up to size six and then they move to toddler sizes in Pullups.

Here are the sizes by weight:

Preemie – 1 to 5 pounds
Newborn – 6 to 9 pounds
One – 8 to 14 pounds
Two – 12 to 18 pounds
Three – 16 to 28 pounds
Four – 22 to 37 pounds
Five – 27 pounds and up
Six – 35 pounds and up

FAQs – Huggies Diapers

How can I tell if my baby is allergic to Huggies Diapers?

The first thing to look for is a rash. Babies can be allergic to a variety of diapering items such as diapers, wipes, lotions, and even food that can cause a rash as their eliminations are caustic to their gentle skin. To find out what they are allergic to, you will need to try changing multiple items to see which is causing the issue.

In the meantime, you can try cornstarch or a hypoallergenic baby powder along with lots of diaper-free time to dry out the rash and figure out what is causing the issue. Be sure to speak to your pediatrician about the suspected allergen.

Are Huggies diapers better than Pampers diapers?

Sensitive babies with issues with latex may prefer Pampers, but Huggies move more freely. However, both diapers are tied for the best diaper because they both offer similar value, comfort, and materials.

Ultimately, it comes down to which diaper fits your baby best and works best for your baby.

What works for one baby will not for another, and the only way to find out which is better is trial and error.

Why are there so many different Huggies Diapers?

No two babies are the same and may require a different shape or softness to suit their personal tastes. Huggies knows no two babies are the same and make multiple styles to meet multiple needs. If you can, try out one of each style of Huggies diapers to find out which works best for your baby.
